Ellerman Line's m.v. 'City of Swansea'  loading tinplate for South Africa in 1958. Built in Glasgow, the vessel's displacement was 9,900 gross registered tons. She was eventually broken up in Taiwan in 1972.

Pictured in the lock at Swansea some time during the 1950's is the m.v. 'Wellpark', operated by the Denholm Shipping Company. Built on the Clyde in 1946 by Charles Connell & Co., she was 6,722 gross rgistered tons. Her name was changed to the 'Inver' in 1958 and to the 'Dogan' in 1962, and she was eventually scrapped in 1980.
